Sat/Sunday Set Lists etc.

This past weekend at Yakima Alliance Church, Rooted Ministries (the youth) took over the service. Not only did we do the normal Sunday service, that would be to normal, we did a Saturday night service as well. In my opinoin, worship was better saturday and the message was better Sunday. Anyway, Rooted tweaked the service like there was no tomorrow, or something like that. Normally our service is 2 songs welcome/announcements then a few more songs someone comes to pray for offering, another song or 2 then message then more songs. This weekend we opened with two songs . . . Then we did the welcome/announcements/offering/message. They were all connected. When the message ended we went on a worship marathon, Saturday night included 9 songs after the message, and Sunday only 7. The message was called ‘The Noise of Silence’ the main text was taken from 1 Kings 19:11-14. People seemed to enjoy the idea, most of it at least. I had to do something annoying and attention getting at the beginning of course. I believe the message was life changing, I’ve heard a few people have shut off their radios in the car because of the message. The main point was to be quiet enough to hear the voice of God in your life.
